Short and sweet, hey. What do you make of that then? It’s got to be the shortest blog post heading I’ve stamped out in a while. Couldn’t think of a better way to break the ice. I had this thought as early as last night already. Feeling pretty bushed and bloated, the timing could not have been better. Because as I made my way from one joint to the next, true to my nature, not an occupational hazard, I couldn’t keep my bleary eyes off of the other people I saw.
You see, just about every second person I encountered was buried in their favourite social media biz. I’m pretty sure that if it wasn’t the ever popular WhatsApp, it had to be YouTube or Instagram. How do I know this? Well, every now and then some guy has got something of a fun clip to show the guys sitting near or next to him. And then you hear all the guffaws, and then you know. The jokes are out and all and sundry are having a really great time.
And then there’s these quiet guys, you know, guys like me sitting in their corners, seemingly all alone in the world. But they’re not, you see. You can be pretty sure that they’re just like me, still thinking about work at this ghastly hour. Can’t be helped. It’s a competitive world out there, and if you don’t put in the minutes, you’re not going to be seeing any bread and bacon tonight. Or tomorrow, as the case may be.
I’m on Instagram as we speak. While some guys are punching out a new media blitz, other guys are making notes on how to increase followers on Instagram. It’s hard work, I tell you. Ask me, I know. Been there and done that. Not going down that road again. You could say I’ve taken the easier, broad path. But it only looks that way because even though I bought a ton of new followers for my Instagram platform, I’m still putting in the muscle.
And that’s important, guys. Just remember that. The next time you head off to hang out just like I did last night, just take another look at the guys around you. Be observant just like me. Those guys laughing their heads off, most probably at something that was shared via YouTube, just take a look at how they’re all dressed. All tatty but never natty. Can’t say they dress that way deliberately. I’m inclined to think that they’re struggling.
Different case for the quiet guys in their corners. It looks like they haven’t got a soul to turn to. But hey, just look at how they’re dressed. Pretty smart looking dudes I’ve got to tell you. And why are they so quiet. They’re just so focused right now, putting together another serious Instagram post, promoting their lifestyle or biz, or acting out an influencing part on behalf of a commercial drive they’ve bought into.
